Humans of TapMango: Cassie
Meet Cassie! Reader, fitness enthusiast, and TapMango’s HR Generalist! Find out what she loves about working at TapMango, what she does in her spare time, and what TV shows she binges regularly.
What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?
I’m the Human Resources Generalist at TapMango! I started as a Recruitment Coordinator back in January 2020, focusing pretty heavily on recruitment while supporting the HR generalist at the time with all other areas of HR. This past June, I was promoted to HR generalist; so I am still focused on recruitment but also handle all things HR from supporting employees to payroll & implementing new policies.
What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?
I love recruiting! It is so personally rewarding but also it’s genuinely exciting to get to play such a big role in finding the best person for not only the role, but the team itself. We have such an awesome group of people here so finding the right people to join is a challenge, but that’s what makes it so satisfying. I also love being there for employees on a day to day basis and getting to know each and every department.
Describe your WFH desk situation?
Currently I only have one monitor but am debating getting a second to upgrade my setup. I always have a candle going, an oat milk coffee on the go, and an ever changing to do list on my whiteboard.
What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?
I am a bookworm!! I’m currently reading “The Great Alone,” and I highly recommend it! I love binging Netflix shows and watching movies. I also love working out and staying active, whether that’s strength workouts, spin classes, or yoga. I love fitness and how it makes me feel in my day to day! The only new skill that I learned during quarantine is how to start enjoying home workouts.
What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?
I don’t think many of my colleagues know that I am super passionate about well rounded health and fitness. I don’t talk about fitness much but it’s a big part of my life and something that I am really passionate about.
What is one piece of advice you would tell 8 year old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter and love)
I don’t think my 8 year old self would listen to me but I would tell her to be present and slow down. As cheesy as it sounds, I am always looking forward to the next stage of my life and really have to remind myself that life is made up of a bunch of nows and these are the times I will look back on and miss.
Top 3 binge worthy shows, book series, or movies? (and why?)
This is a tough one! If I had to choose one for each I’d have to say…
Book Series (and just all time best) : Harry Potter
Shows: Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Gilmore Girls – I have watched all of these at least 15 times through
Movies: I’m a big Disney movie person – any movies from growing up are my go to for a feel good moment or just a pick me up. I’m definitely a nostalgic movie / TV viewer.
